Back to Vermillion Lakes to see the Loon Family

If you haven't read the previous blog about Vermillion Lakes you might want to read it before this. We went back to night to see the family of loons. My camera is not good at distance and these were the two photos that at least allow you to recognize the birds as loons. It is a thrill to see the little one swim behind its parents as they fish.
There were 5 or 6 ravens on a log and for about at least 30 minutes they made the most horrendous noise with their very raucous croaks and yells. They were very quite for the first half hour that we were there and they they started a yelling match about something.
Lots of UFBs - Unidentified Flying Birds. Could have been flycatchers, sparrows or warblers...just to fast, too small, and dusk made it hard to see them.
